Jewellery Care Guide
To preserve the beauty and longevity of your LovexLove jewellery, please follow these care instructions:
-
Avoid exposing your jewellery to water, sweat, perfumes, hair products, lotions and makeup, as these can damage both the metals and the pearls.
-
Always remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, or exercising to prevent tarnish and protect the integrity of your pieces.
-
Put your jewellery on last and take them off first to minimize exposure to sprays and oils.
-
Always store your LovexLove jewellery separately in the original LovexLove box or a soft pouch to protect it from dust and moisture and to prevent scratching.
Cleaning Your Jewellery
Pearls
-
After each wear, gently wipe your pearls with a soft, dry cloth to remove natural oils, perspiration, or any residue.
-
Never soak pearls in water or clean them with ultrasonic or steam cleaners—pearls are porous and sensitive to moisture, heat, and chemicals.
-
If a deeper clean is needed, lightly dampen a soft cloth with lukewarm water (no soap) and gently wipe the surface. Allow the pearls to air dry completely before storing.
-
Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, makeup, and skincare products—these can dull the natural lustre of pearls over time.
14K Gold-Filled
-
Wipe gently with a soft, non-abrasive cloth dampened slightly with water.
-
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, jewellery dips, or harsh cloths, as they can wear down the gold layer over time.
-
For a deeper clean, use mild dish soap diluted in water and gently wipe, making sure to avoid any pearls. Dry thoroughly before storing.
Sterling Silver
-
Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface oils and buildup.
-
You may use a polishing cloth designed for silver to restore shine—but take care to avoid contact with pearls, as the polishing agents can damage their delicate surface.
-
Avoid silver dips, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cloths, which can strip finishes and harm any pearls or softer materials.
-
To help prevent tarnish, wipe silver jewellery after each wear and store it in an airtight pouch or container, ideally with an anti-tarnish strip.
Brass
-
Gently polish with a dedicated brass polishing cloth or a soft cloth treated with a small amount of natural polishing agent (like lemon juice and baking soda—but never near pearls).
-
Avoid commercial cleaners unless they are specifically labelled safe for brass.
-
Keep brass pieces dry and store separately to reduce oxidation. Regular polishing will help maintain its original shine.
Travelling With Jewellery
-
When travelling, use individual pouches or compartments to keep pieces secure and separated.
-
Avoid leaving jewellery in bathrooms or damp environments.
